Scottsdale is launching the much-anticipated Thompson Peak Dog Park at 20199 N. 78th Place, offering three-and-a-half acres of off-leash fun for local dogs and their owners.
The park’s innovative design features three separate play areas, including grass and wood chip zones, which will rotate to ensure year-round quality and easy maintenance.
Visitors can expect shade canopies, water fountains, benches, pet waste stations, and a dedicated restroom for added comfort.
A new footbridge will link the space to existing facilities, and expanded parking will help manage the increased activity.
Adding to its charm, artist Shachi Kale will create colorful panels celebrating local pets and desert scenery.
The city expects construction to begin in late summer or fall 2025, with the park set to open by summer 2026.
This new dog park will join Chaparral, Horizon, and Vista del Camino Parks, strengthening Scottsdale’s reputation as a pet-friendly community.
