Interesting Facts
  • Tango is a Husky mix with a gentle temperament despite his large size and strong appearance.

  • Tango enjoys spending time outdoors and going on long walks or hikes with his family.

  • Despite his breed's reputation for being high-energy, Tango is actually quite calm and enjoys relaxing at home with his loved ones.

Tango, a 5-year-old Husky mix, has faced significant challenges in Scottsdale but has emerged as a true sweetheart.

Initially placed on the euthanasia list after a single incident of snapping at a leash, her overall behavior has consistently been affectionate and well-mannered.

During evaluations, Tango entered and exited her kennel without issues, welcomed affection, and showed no reactivity to other dogs in Scottsdale.

She wagged her tail when meeting new people and allowed thorough handling, including dental checks.

Tango sits politely, takes treats gently, and walks beautifully on a leash.

Now thriving in a foster home, Tango has adjusted beautifully.

She’s mellow, affectionate, and absolutely loves her walks.

She adores belly rubs and is a true cuddle bug, always happy to relax with her people or climb into your lap.

While she can be playful, Tango shows signs of wanting to be in charge with other dogs, so she may do best as the only pet or with calm companions.

She’s protective of her food, so she’ll need a home that can respect those boundaries, especially if there are children.

Fortunately, she responds very well to verbal correction and redirection.

Some of her favorite things include mealtime, tasty treats, belly rubs, walks, and soaking up all the love she can get.

Tango had some hindlimb lameness that we could not seem to figure out, so we ended up getting her a neurological consult and MRI.

We found an infection in her spine and treated with antibiotics, it is a particularly nasty one that we will discuss more with interested adopters as it may require long-term antibiotic use.

She has recovered so well and is clearly feeling much better now that she is receiving treatment.

Tango would thrive in a home that’s either active or mellow, she’s flexible, as long as she gets her walks and affection.

She’s currently living with both small and large dogs but may do best as the only dog or with other animals who respect her space.

She hasn’t been tested with cats, so we are not quite sure how she would do living with them.

She could be good with children ages 3 and up, as long as they can understand and respect her food boundaries.
